Our program is one of very personalized attention and support for future parents and surrogates. The unique and special bond between the surrogate and parents is one that develops throughout the pregnancy. Individuals have different comfort levels regarding coming together to walk this special path. It is essential that the right people are matched together so that there is a positive, life-changing experience for all resulting in a miracle of your own.
Surrogate Screening:
Screening of surrogates takes place over a series of months prior to acceptance into our program. A home visit and multiple interviews are performed. Our program is open to surrogates in surrogate-friendly states across the United States. A representative of Miracles visits the surrogate's home and performs a home evaluation. The process is long to evaluate the level of the commitment of the surrogate and also to establish a personal relationship with Miracles that establishes trust between the surrogate and the case manager.
Background Check:
A detailed criminal and financial background check is performed of the surrogate and her spouse or significant other.
Psychological:
We work with licensed psychological professionals with experience in the infertility field. A clinical/diagnostic interview including psychological history evaluation of personal trauma, family history, potential substance abuse, coping resources, motivation for being a surrogate, expectations and concerns, current stress and assessment of support of significant other and/or family.
Medical:
All surrogates are medically screened prior to introduction to future parents including evaluation of previous medical records, interview and medical evaluation with fertility specialist. Your specialist may need to perform a mock cycle transfer to ensure that the surrogate is fully capable of becoming a surrogate. Blood testing will also need to be performed including drug, tobacco and alcohol screening, blood type, CBC, Chlamydia, hep B&C, HIV, HTLV, RPR and CMV, pap, rubella, ureaplasma/mycoplasma.
IVF:
The medical IVF process can be challenging. We are very closely connected with surrogates to help with navigation of the medical process going over details verifying understanding of the process and providing emotional support. Refer to our Resource Center tab to view specialists that we work with.
Legal:
Miracles works with legal professionals that work primarily in the fertility field. They will provide expert guidance through the legal process of contracts and the judicial process for establishment of parentage.
Financial:
IVF is an expensive process. Miracles will do what we can to provide options for cost savings whenever possible. For example, future parents that also desire help from an egg donor and select one of Miracles' egg donors, along with a surrogate, will receive a discount for services.
